Bio & Philosophy
I was recently named the 2006 NSCA Personal Trainer of the Year & 2006 ACE Personal Trainer of the Year Finalist. I earned my MS and BS degree in Kinesiology from Cal State University Northridge. I currently train my clients at my private fitness studio called Michael Seril Fitness, located at Whittier, California. My clients range from a healthy, athletic high school softball and volleyball player to an eighty one-year-old with arthritis, total knee replacement and a history of heart attack and stroke.
I also train individuals with fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, history of seizures, diabetes, hypertension, gastric bypass and several with musculoskeletal limitations. In addition to private personal training,
I am a contributing fitness expert to Shape, Men's Health, Maximum Fitness, Skin Deep, Get Active and Muscle & Fitness magazines, Washington Post newspaper and Reuters Media Company. I am also a fitness & exercise lecturer, presenter and newsletter writer for two medical facilities in Whittier, CA.
Designed workouts for articles featured in Men's Health, Maximum Fitness, and The Washington Post. Also a featured fitness advisor for Shape magazine.

My approach to training integrates functional therapeutic exercises with non-traditional exercises to improve optimal performance and conquer health and fitness goals. A variety of exercises ranging from proprioception training to uni-lateral training keeps my clients and their muscles from boredom and maintains a steady improvement to a healthier and more functional tomorrow.
My specialties include but not limited to fat loss program, post rehab (post physical therapy, post cardiac rehab), special population (diabetes, arthritis, hypertension), medical fitness, children & older adult fitness, strength & conditioning.
